Has anyone had the aftermarket katzskin leather seats installed. Let me know what you think about the quality, etc vs. factory leather.

I installed a set on an 05 Jeep GC. The fit was absolutely perfect, but that also is a function of quality labor as well as parts. The color matched perfectly to stock and the custom options were neat too.

All that being said, the surface of the leather wasn't ultra smooth like the really soft (and thin) leather in my wife's Lexus GX and my current landcruiser. The leather was thick and durable, but seemed to be a cheaper cut that had some bumps and texture to it.

I would look at some samples before dropping it in a high end car. For any other application I dont think it can be beat.

How much did that GC install run, dallas?

I think it was $1100 retail and I paid $900-something labor included for both front and back with two-tone and 'Jeep' embroidered on the seats. I think basic was around $200 less? It was 2-3 years ago.

Through luck, I found this company in FW that is/was family owned for something like 75 years that does aftermarket leather seats, sunroofs, and other stuff for all the dealerships in a 3 state area. Really neat American company with a huge operation knocking out dozens of seats and sunroofs everyday.

They are a katzkin authorized dealer I found my contacting the katzkin.

If you google fort worth Texas and katzkin it brings up an address by the airport on bucking ham. That is where the business was that I used for the install.

I remember them saying they were considering amping up their deal with katzkin and essentially becoming their distributor for a good part of the us. I would call the number from google on that address and see what the deal is. Good luck.

That's Southside Trim. They do work for us at Sewell here in Fort Worth when we need them. Always do very nice work and are easy to work with.

Aftermarket leather is about the installer as much as it is about the seat covers. Katzkin makes the best seat covers, and Southside Trim is the best in the business for installation.

I've got classic soft trim in my Titan, cost me $900 installed, life time warranty, need to take it back for some minor wear & tear issue to see what or if they will do anything

I think there's a company in Grand Prairie near 360 and (I think) Carrier that does these seat installs.

Yea I had it installed through the dealer but they used classic, the two tone was free so I went with it
