All of a sudden last week my cheap tractor supply low profile toolbox quit working right. I used to be able to close and lock it with one hand while standing on the ground. Now I have to jump in the bed and practically sit on the lid to get it to close all the way and lock. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks.

Serious answer: latch may be bent or stuck and needs some white lithium grease.

Smartarse answer: don't buy China made crap.

I had one just like it and it starting splitting in one of the corners.

I thought I needed to adjust the latch or something until I realized the metal was tearing.

Check hinges. Make sure they're not bent, or if it is a single long rod hinge, that there isn't a slight bend in it. A slight bend in a long hinge really impedes its function.

watch the alighment of the latch.

Anything that has been made of metal can be bent or beaten back into shape if it is warped or out of alignment. THere's a chance some jackhole tried to break into it and damaged it.
