I am not a fan of gore but I stumbled on this gif of the 1977 death of Tom Pryce.

Driver Tom Pryce and Track Marshall Janson Van Vuuren were both killed instantly during A F1 race in spectacular fashion.

It shouldn't really be all that shocking. You've all seen cats and raccoons after they get hit at a measley 55mph right? If they make solid contact, they sort of explode.

The marshal and driver were kind of in shock. Couldn't have been real to them at that second.

Based on that video, it really doesn't look like he was actually torn in half. It looks like his pants came off.

I saw a Dodge Ram van hit a sheep on the highway. I was about 100 yards away approaching the scene. The sheep exploded.

In the gif posted, it doesn't look like there was any reason to be running across an active raceway.

I worked a scene where a guy on a motorcycle hit a small (s10 size) pickup head on and was throw a significant distance. He landed on his butt and was split up the middle (into left and right sides) to about his diaphragm. Talk about a mess!

Yeah, that hockey vid, IMHO, is worse than the .gif posted above. It is so harrowing, you just know that you are watching a dead man

If Wikipedia is accurate, the team trainer was a former Army medic, and reacted quick by reaching in the neck and squeezing the jugular until help arrived to start stitches.

Much worse video of this crash out there. Don't go looking for it like I did....

If you start really looking you can find some horrible accident photos.

I remember seeing one of a dude and a chick on a harley that tried to pass some cars and hit a box truck head on, combined speed something like 120mph. their bodies were pieces...

Then there is the one where the tall guy gets off the chopper, and the pilot accidentally bumps the collective and the rotor blades flex down more than usual and whack...helmet full of brains..

I'm super glad I wasn't with my relatives a couple of decades ago at GSP before they built the new entrance. A truckload full of mexicans with their inner tubes were pulling out onto 83 when they stalled and an 18 wheeler came around the corner doing about 65 downhill... My relatives were camped down the hill, heard it, and were first on the scene. I think 7 people died.

Yes and the marks on the back of the trailer are blood.

The Budd Dwyer video is the worst imo. Especially if you read his written speech and hear the new facts that he was indeed innocent.
