I've got an 01 GMC Sierra with a tail gate lock that was installed by the previous owner. The linkage to open my tailgate has popped off and the only way to get to it is by removing the handle bezel, which is impossible with the lock in place. Note -there is a one way screw on the back side of the tailgate. How do I remove the tailgate handle lock? - Thanks

Thats a pop & lock 1100.

Remove that 3rd bolt and unlock it, should come out.

1Ags... do you have any of those tools to remove security screws or know where I could rent one from? I live in Downtown (with a great view of the Aquarium ferris wheel, don't be jealous).

If it were my truck, I'd just use the EZ out I had to remove it.

Thanks for the info... I filed down the edges of the screw and was able to use some vice grips.
