How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just got my truck inspected (yay for safety, right?), and the sticker dude say he technically should fail me, as one of my taillights is cracked/busted. He let me pass this time because the hole is conveinently over the reverse light, so it doesn't affect taillight colors. My question: do I need to replace the whole unit, or can I patch it (the broken piece is still in the light housing)? I refuse to use tape, I was thinking silcone or something of the like- which would be waaaaaaay cheaper than a new light. Thoughts?
Thanks!!

You know those are pretty cheap at salvage yards right?

I have used silicone, but you wight want a small piece of clear packing tape over that just to be sure.

I know they are cheap- but silicone is cheaper. I replaced the other unit about 8 years ago...and it was $35 off eBay. Being a 16 year old truck, it is getting harder to find replacements that aren't in worse shape. I would put tape BEHIND the brocken out piece...

Thanks Max- that's what I was going for, and I appreciate it! I may try the cheap patch for now...use a different sticker place next year...short skirt and tight top too...
