The windshield wiper motor on my 2000 GMC Yukon froze up a couple of weeks ago during the ice storm. I've ordered a replacement motor and have it in hand, but I've never attempted this type of repair before. It appears that I'll have to remove the wipers and the plastic cover between the hood and the windshield. How difficult is this?

Any suggestions/hints/guidance is appreciated.

These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. There were drawings with this, but they would not import.

Be DAMNED SURE that you turn them on and allow them to 'park' after turning them off BEFORE you attach the arms to be sure they are in the correct position, otherwise, you will be wiping the hood or bending stuff and cussing and throwing tools, kicking the dog, drinking beer with buttermilk....you get the point.

i'm sure it's a little more complicated on a 2000, but i did one on my 85 s-10 and it wasn't hard at all.

Thanks Pilot. Is there any way for me to access the document, including the drawings, that you are posting from? I assume it's some sort of repair manual, but if there's anyway for you to get me access to the drawings, etc that would be great.
