I just saw a driver make a stop driving a uhaul...I guess all the spare trucks were broke down? Never seen that one before.

Holiday season = TONS of Extra Holiday Season Drivers + lots of extra miles put on the trucks + lots of them down for maintenance, not enough trucks.

Last year I had Fedex show up in a rented Ford Expedition.

I usually see them driving ryder trucks this time of year, but I saw something new the other day. There was a UPS driver delivering with a golfcart and a trailer in my neighborhood the other day. Its not a private homeowner association neighborhood either.

Yep, they're doing this in my parent's neighborhood too. Strange.

My friend is a programmer for UPS. I jsut asked him about this.

He said the fuel/emissions savings on having a 'drop point' in the neighborhood is the key here. Since they are dropping several rounds a day, its faster for one truck to go back and forth from the hub to the neighborhood/area, drop off packages to the golf cart driver and then to other neighborhoods, and go back and reload at the hub.

Fedex does it all the time not just Christmas.

Ahh...those bogey-out Uhaul trucks. I feel sorry for the people that have to drive those dogs. I will never ever ever rent a Uhaul again as long as I live.

I saw a UPS truck pulling a Uhaul trailer today. Was weird, but then I realized what month it is.

Yesterday was Budget rent a truck, today was white ford explorer.

I get those frequently from random people in minivans, etc, but I once had some dude with a mullet deliver a Fedex package in a 70 Nova SS. It was memorable.

LOL.

FedexHome is independent contractors, yet they're supposed to use their FedexHome vehicles leased from Fedex.

Thats awesome, using a muscle car, I bet he'd get some heads turned.

The guy who delivers to our office was driving a u-haul. He said that they give the u-hauls to the ones making deliveries to businesses and the ones making home deliveries get the UPS trucks.
