Stupid TxTag Question

I finally broke down and got a TxTag. I don't need one here in San Antonio but the ability to go around Austin traffic is worth it.

As per the install instructions the tag is supposed to go just below the mount for the rear view mirror like this:

Unfortunately, my mirror also houses the sensors for the wipers and auto-headlights and looks like this:

So if I install as they suggest I'm going to wind up with the sticker in the middle of the windshield and that would suck donkey balls.

Where else can I mount this sucker on my windshield so that I don't have to stare at it while putting down the road? Can I get away with having it off in a corner as long as it's below the tinting?

Mine is in my tinting and works fine. But...I don't have that stuff you got.

Just stick it to the immediate left/below the tinting behind your rearview mirror...

A couple more images... poor ones at that.

Thanks CATAGBQ.

I'm thinking on the passenger side just to right of the sensors and below the "tint".

Here. Sit in your car and put it in a location that the mirror will block depending on your line of sight. Play with it a little bit before removing the backing. Once you find a place that is sufficiently hidden by the mirror, stick it on.

mine sits right behind my mirror to the passenger side.

Ugly as all get out for the passenger, but the driver cannot see it.

Yeah, we still don't have any here in San Antonio. The city was slated to get one to improve the traffic flow north of town and out into the hill country, where everyone decided to move to the past 10 years, but that found such opposition it was killed.

Yep. Oh well, I'm never in that seat anyway.

my toll tag is somewhere behind the dash. It works there, well at least it used to. Hard to tell now that they bill by mail and don't have crazy sirens go off when you run a booth.

Its NTTA (Dallas), same stuff, or so I'm told

they used to advise putting it near the registration. I think one of my non commuters still has the velcro strips there.

Isn't it supposed to go on the dotted/cross-hatched area on the windshield behind the mirror in your pic? IIRC, that area does not have the metallic UV coating. My manual (yes, I actually read it) states that e-toll tags need to go there. I put my NTTA tolltag on the passenger side behind the mirror (where I can't see it). I drive a 2010 VW CC.

Yep, now maybe they'll have a go at the far west side with all the mess around Culebra, Potranco and such.
