Hi. I posted a while back about my wife's Caravan.

It is a 2005, 3.8l v6 Grand Caravan.

Anyway, I need a new EGR valve. I did the whole take it off and clean it thing, and it still didn't work. So I need a new one.

Anyway, there are two different versions at all the parts stores. One is for "Option Code XZZ" and one is fore EXC Option Code XZZ".

No one at any of the major parts stores can tell me what that means, or how to determine which option the car is. Furthermore, the auto parts stores cannot get the XZZ Option Code valve, but carry the other.

Help?

Is there an XZZ in your VIN?

no.
In fact (not that it matters) there are no three letters in consecutive order.

take the old part in to the store and see if the one they have matches up

check the sticker on the door panel, some where on there it should say.

The sticker on the door tells me everything on earth, but no information that mentions XZZ.

There is nothing stuck in the glove box with information on it.

My build sheet was stuck under the carpet underneath my back seats. Found it taking everything out for a day at the track. Have you tried that?

How about just calling the dealer and asking for a price? Lot of times they're as reasonable as the FLAPS.

well hell, you have the VIN the Dealer parts Dept can tell you what it is.

If you dont have the XZZ in you VIN then you have the EXC (except) XZZ option apparently.

XZZ is probably a California Emmission thing and why they don't carry it around here. just a guess tho.
