Some hs buddies and I have rented a place on Lake Limestone for a weekend this summer. Although growing up not far away, none of us are very familiar with that area. Any bbq, TexMex, or cafe spots we need to know about? Anything unique to Groesbeck we should partake in? Thanks folks

Go to Mexia for mex food, the Taqueria, they have a full bar.

Gun store in Groesbeck by the Subway.

The sale barn cafe has a awesome burger, was in Texas Monthly, but its small and can have a wait. Good food though.

Take boat over to the marina, it has a decent burger but check the hours, grill closes early. Sometimes live music.

Short of that, drink beer on the lake.

Lol Bohunk, options do seem limited. Thanks vpracer.
If all we do is drink beer, grill, bbq, and look at the lake then it will be a good time.

If you are into history, go check out old Fort Parker, located off the Groesbeck- Mexia highway. It would be good for a couple of hours.

Sale Barn Cafe has imo the best CFS in the state. It's also the best place to eat in limestone county
