....to get good offshore snapper/AJ/grouper spots this year. Is it that uncool to take my handheld GPS on party boats (Scat Cat, WharfCat, Dolphin, Etc)? When the troll is not working, I am tired of fishing tired out rigs and spending loads of money on fuel with little to show.

I doubt I will get caught and if I do they will not throw it overboard.....or there will be a tussle.

I know the captains try to hide these places like gold since it is their livlihood and will try to conficate a GPS. Question is, is it that bad bull to snag these spots?

I dont think it's uncool. Granted some fishermen are like pitbulls when it comes to protecting "their territory", but it's an open Gulf and nobody owns it. If there are no rules stating you can't take a GPS on board, get a small one and put it in your b**** shorts. It wont take long to lock in the coordinates.
