Does anyone know some really nice places to stay in Galveston? I'd like something romantic if possible...say, around 150-200 bucks a night?

Bed and breakfast would be great...or a really nice resort hotel.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Stayed in Moody Gardens for a conference we held. It was pretty nice. Unfortunately I didn't spend enough time around the hotel to comment on much.

Check out sanluisresort.com. Don't know when you're making the trip, but keep in mind Mardi Gras runs from Feb 9th thru the 17th and a room on the weekend during that period might be tough to find.

Try the Tremont House downtown--very nice.

Harbour House is nice, but overrated IMO. It's a clean place and is pretty private, but you don't get any pampering there what-so-ever. (And I don't care much about pampering.)

I would definetely recommend Tremont.

I love the Galvez, it's beautiful and old so I'd say it's romantic.

best places to stay in galveston are:

tremont house is the most romantic
victorian bed and breakfast is a cool spot, but never stayed there (only been for meetings)
hotel galvez is cool, but small rooms
san luis has nice ammenities, great pool in summertime, good spa
moody gardens has alot of great things (activities, rooms with private jacuzzis, very nice presidential suite)
