So who has a hurricane in the Western Gulf on their bingo card for early October? It would be unusual for us to have one after we have had a front. That front we had last week is what pushed Helene to Florida and away from us. But here we go…

Hope it's a nothin' burger, but we all better keep an eye on this next gyre coming up from the Western Caribbean.

Latest model runs show anything that develops will head towards FL.

Seasonality would probably point in that direction for October. I did check out Dr. Masters website and he doesn't project a model yet, and leans on the direction of the NHC area of concern, which is the western Caribbean and south central Gulf at this time. He did note that the Jet Stream is way north for this time of year.

It's really just too early to tell anything. But it's an area to keep an eye on.

The chances of this thing developing are diminishing now. Fingers crossed.
