First timers to NOLA. Will be wife + kids (12 and 10). Can y'all please offer recommendations on the best places to stay, eat, and things we can all do together?

Cafe du Monde for beignets, aquarium, and mass at the cathedral were already on our list. What else?

Edit: It's been 20+ years since I've been to NO but I remember they had a really nice zoo.

Chargrilled oysters may be the best thing I've ever eaten. Drago's, Felix, and Acme are all excellent. I prefer Acme, but would likely choose the one with the shortest line.
