SigEast, I grew up in Texas City and am still amazed at the devastation from the hurricane.I've gone over to Galveston a couple of times, haven't been to bolivar, but have seen the pictures. Did you have a house that was destroyed or did you buy property after the hurricane?

We had a house that was destroyed. Bolivar got beat to hell, but is now starting to make some real headway in rebuilding. We have 3 new homes going up in our neighborhood alone. Before the storm, we had 22 houses in our neighborhood. Only 2 survived and those 2 required significant remodeling/rebuilding.

where ya at Sig ? We are in Ocean Shores (off of Boyt Rd.) Had 44 homes, (i think)on the 1st 2 streets off the beach (4 rows) and there are 15 of us left standing. Several new ones going up tho !

We're in Singing Sands West, about halfway between the Big Store and Rollover. The entrance to our neighborhood is across the street from the big, blue water tank.

We miss it a ton. How have things been for you guys with the cleanup, etc? Things look to be picking up, and the peninsula seems to have made tremendous strides from a year ago, but it looks there is still a ways to go.

Know exactly where it is. The progress made is nothing short of remarkable. Still have lots to do, but its already 100x better than it was. We`re there nearly every w/e and hope to make it permanent in a few years. Good luck with it. If we can help in any way, let me know. Or, if you just want to come and visit, let me know.

Mark Williams built my parents house in Waterways. They haven't had anything bad to say about their experience. Everything under the house was wiped out from the storm, but the house survived in excellent condition.
