Yes. We make it anytime my brother and I are both in Corpus. We take the whole family down there and everyone is happy.

Go. It's been a while since I've been, but even if it's half as good as then, it's worth the drive.

Some places make you take your hat off before you step inside, we have one here in Victoria that requests that you do, out of respect for the owner that has passed away. No big deal.

Whenever we were hunting on the Kennedy lease we would eat at Kings Inn. Apparently when the owner's wife was still around (she still could be for all I know) if you wore a hat you would be kicked out. I'm 95% sure there is a hat rack inside of the waiting area with a bunch of hats on it. They were also 'picky' when hiring waitstaff, a trend which still holds true for the most part.

King's Inn is worth the drive, especially if you're travelling to Falfurrias through Rivera. You are not allowed to wear a hat inside. I don't think they have menus, I've never seen one and been there multiple times. Their avocado salads are great, and the food must be ordered by the pound (i.e. pound of fried shrimp & oysters). They probably have blackened fish, but I don't know.

Two Georges is good, but not quite as good as King's Inn. It's off of Everhart by The Palace.

Is it possible to get there by boat from the Island?

Yes, you could probably get there from the Island. You would need a big gas tank, a great GPS with maps, and a lot of luck. My guess you might have a one per cent of making it without running up on the rocks or a sand bar. (Start early).

The food is excellent. It is served family style. A platter of shrimp or oysters or fish. Their onion rings are killer. When I was a boy my family lived in Falfurrias and later we moved to Kingsville. We ate there a lot. My wife had never been there before, so we had our anniversary one year in Corpus and drove over for supper one night. There are many good memories for me involving King's Inn. It is well worth your time to go there!

Rail road seafood station in Corpus is just as good. They are in downtown by American Bank Center.

I'm amazed this thread has made it this far without anyone mentioning what a dump the building is.

I lived in Corpus almost my whole life and never once went to Kings Inn. Hell, I only fished Baffin twice, and I lived in the Bluff.
