any advice on places to go fri and sat night?

ive never been but i imagine there are some local bars, which are best?

Think there will be a lot of chicks on the beach mid oct or do they mainly just come around in the spring?

In mid-October its a crap-shoot on how many touristas/chicks will be there. The beach was pretty crowded last weekend, so you never know.

Shorty's is the coolest local dive, and by dive, I mean this defines a dive bar. The two places that would have the most potential for chicks are Bernie's (next to Shorty's) and Sharkey's.

If you are up for a relatively short drive, go south down 361 to North Padre, take a right at the stoplight and go to The Pelican Lounge. It's a good bar and always has live music and ladies there on the weekends...locals and touritas. It's about a 15 minute drive from Port A, just set your cruise control.

The Coast Club in Port A is decent also.

The Coast Club is ok, but it's a "fancy" place, not the typical Port A, beach dive.

If you go to Neptune's and find the right bartender, she may deepthroat your Dos XX bottle for you, then sprinkle salt on it.

This is usually what I tell people about Rockport, but it prolly applies to Port A as well:

If she has more teeth than children, she may be a keeper.

Don't forget about the Flats Lounge next to Shorty's.

Damn, when she did that I swear I came a little. She was freakin' hot too.

How about Fins? Pretty cool place to eat and drink. We go in as a group and order food by the pound. The shrimp and Mahi-mahi are awesome and relatively inenpensive.
