I have a conference there in 3 weeks which I think will proabably not happen but I wondered how much damage happened to Moody Gardens?

Heard their manager on the phone with KHOU last night. They kept a crew on site to ride out the storm. They have some damage, but over all they are in pretty good shape.

You need to look at the video, I posted on Facebook. I am pretty sure it's flooded and might now be in working order.

Ummmmm, no. They are talking about possibly not even letting residents back for a month. I don't think they'll be a conference going on at Moody Gardens.

my best advice is to be patient. moody gardens is a first-class facility run by top-notch staff. i'm sure they're in the process of surveying the damage and as soon as they have a realistic idea about operations in the near future, they'll be contacting all of their scheduled conferences, etc.

Seems to have done well for the most part.

If I remember right, when they were first building it, I think they said it could take winds up to around 200 mph. From all pictures, it looks alright.

There's supposed to be the HiFi Tri there the weekend of the 25th. What are the chances of it going on?

Well, my conference got postponed indefinitely. The people in charge of it said that Moody Gardens was operating on emergency power and had no phone connections and that the hotel was not really damaged but the attractions were. I assume by attractions they meant the pyramid and aquarium. So I probably will be going there in the Spring!

The Schliterbahn water park is the attraction that was damaged.
