Anyone ever been there or know someone that has?

Stuff like student life, whether it is like a commuter school, rec center, career center etc...

I took one class there a couple summers ago. I only went in a couple of the buildings, but they all seemed pretty nice. It's a newer school, so everything is pretty new and has a clean feel to it. I drove from my parents house every day, but I don't know what everyone else does. I was only a student for 5 weeks...

I went to school there for 2 years and graduated in 2000.

Student life was a lot of fun. There are lots of intramurals and student groups. Lots of beach parties and downtown was fun so there was always something to do at night.

There are a lot of dorms and apartments on campus but a lot of people live in apartments near campus or around town. I would not consider it a commuter school. Del Mar is a commuter school.

The rec center is currently being increased in size and upgraded.

The career center wasn't great and there aren't a ton of recruiters during career fair. Though I was recruited by ExxonMobil, USAA, and ANI.
