Will the beaches be clean in May or will they be full of seaweed? I ask this because I was told last Memorial Day that there was an ongoing beach renewel project, when seaweed was three feet high. I had some friends that went down in July and said the beaches were clean. Just trying to schedule my family vacation, so I don't have to worry about my kids stepping in or on something.

Depends on the beach. Natural beaches will have seaweed. Tourist beaches will not as they clean up the seaweed daily with tractors. The seaweed is natural and comes in every year. It is extremely beneficial to the beach. Don't fear the seaweed.

Saw you are from Big Spring. Seaweed covered beaches are better than Big Spring! I am just down 20 from you in Midland, but grew up in CC. Hope you enjoy Port A.

I really enjoy going down and hanging out on the beach. It seemed that there were all kinds of nasty things that were washed up on the beach last year. I just worry about my kids stepping on something when they are running around on the beach. Being a selfish tourist, I really like the clean beaches.
