So this year will be interesting. In case you haven't heard, they will not be charging an entry fee to the Strand area. It could get ugly. I really hope everything goes well. Afterall, my dad is the king of Momus this year.

Can I ride on his float

That would be sweet, but the king gets a float all to himself. He might have to share with the queen, can't remember. Anyway, I wouldn't mind riding in the truck pulling the float. That can be just as fun as riding on a float.

I was just joking, one day I want to get involved with the parades or a balcony on the strand.

I don't think it will be that bad. Last year they didn't charge the first weekend and I saw no problems worse than normal. I could be wrong though as the second weekend is usually much busier.

I saw King Cakes for sale at the store today. Didn't get one yet but now I'm excited about Mardi Gras.

What up Ag_B_10? Yeah, I don't expect much trouble. I think people are becoming seasoned Mardi Gras fans now. I go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans every couple years and I've never witnessed big problems.

Ran in the Mardi Gras fun run this morning. Now waiting to walk out to Seawall for the Aquarius Parade and the Gambrinus Parade tonight. I love Mardi Gras!

BTHO and I did the fun run, then tx_aggie_04 joined us for the Aquarius parade, the firetruck parade, and the Gambrinus parade. We then made a trip to the strand to see how it'd be with the changes made. It was good! Each balcony had a sound system so there was no real need for a band. It was great!

I must be on a balcony next year, I just must.

Well... how did everyone's Mardi Gras experience go?

Took the family down to the Island on Sunday for the Kid's Parade. We had a blast. Good time for all. Will wait a few more years before we start taking the kid's to the BIG parade on Saturday night.

It was great!

Only bad thing is that after Fat Tuesday tomorrow, I have to wait a whole year to do it again.

Had a great time! Family got on my nerves a bit. Also sucks that I can never make it for the Fat Tuesday parade as I live here in CS.

Well, it's all done for another year, and it seems especially late next year. I think the first weekend starts Feb 25th. Oh well, balconies here I come (next year!).
