I'm not sure if this is the right board for this. But where is a good place to get my dog spayed in the BCS area. My vet quoted me close to $400 for my dog, and that is way way high.

Did it ever occur to anyone how the vet (and/or for that matter the entire medical profession) set their fees.

You can go directly to the University for that. $400 is quite excessive for spay/neuter. When I lived in BCS, I used the vet who is on the corner of the bypass and briar crest (I forget the dr's name or the clinic name)

$400 is a rip off. Go to a small town like Hearn and find the local vet.
