So I posted on the Metroplex board about possible Dallas wedding recommendations and got some great feedback. After looking at a few things she decided better to have it closer to her parents East Texas home.

She booked this place in Tyler www.villadifelicita.com- anyone ever attended an event here? How was it?

TIA

My wife and I got married at the Villa in 2008, when it was still fairly new. We did not have any complaints. The facility and staff was first class and we had a great evening! We have attended several other weddings there since ours, and they now have a fountain behind the outside alter that reminds you of something that you would see at a cheap Chinese food buffet.

So THAT'S what that place is. I've driven by it 100 times and never knew. Seems like it was looking a bit rundown the last time I paid attention, but I could be thinking of another place on that highway.

Interesting.

We're having our reception there next June, the interior of the place is awesome. Especially the very large reception hall. The chapel is pretty small and we care nothing about have it outside in June even though the rear grounds are very nice. I wouldn't classify it as run down, it's not really very old and it was originally built in a fairly unpopullated area. It was in the middle of a large field. There has been some very nice and large home slowly going in around that area off hwy 110.

No I wasn't saying the building was run down. Just the grounds around it. And seriuosly....that might be another building I'm thinking of out that way.

I'm just glad to finally know what that place is. Interesting.

Ours is the 16th, week before. We're just doing the reception there that night, having the wedding downtown.

My wife actually works at Villa di Felicita. It is a great place for any event and we have attended (as well as worked) several weddings out there. If you have any questions or issues, she'd be happy to help. Her name is Kim.

It's a small, family-run business and the owners are great people. They will do just about anything to make your wedding day perfect.

I got married in Tyler at the Cathedral downtown. If you are still looking for a cake check out Chez Bazan! They made both our cakes. Mine was a Bonfire cake. It's a great Aggie family business

Wow.
Worked with Richard Bazan (patriarch of the Bazan family) at Tom Thumb bakery before he left to start his own bakery.
Great guy and knew his stuff.
