Livingston municipal is inexpensive, but I wouldn't call it nice and it's only 9 holes. Cape Royale in San Jacinto County outside of Coldsprings is very nice, or at least it was when I last played it 10 years ago. Right on Lake Livingston, a couple of gorgeous views of the lake from the tee boxes.
