So sad to hear this great place burned down - have had many good meals there over the years and the original owners were extremely nice people.

Hopefully the place was insured well and rebuilding will occur.

Wow. I drove by the place two days ago.

Very sad, but predictable that it would go up in flames. Some of the grease there outdated me.

Very sad....we were going to go eat there the day it burned down too, we were fixing to get ready to go when we heard it was a flame...

According to the county fire marshall it was "woefully" under-insured.

I've heard they are going to rebuild. They had a fund raiser last weekend to raise money. I miss their hush puppies.

I love the jalapeno hush puppies, but not as much as I loved to play the War Hym on the jukebox as I was leaving!

The sips that owned the place were cool.

A very unique place, indeed. We used to always joke that it was one of the only establishments known to man where you could buy ammunition, bait, alcohol and guns within 6 feet of each other! And the War Hymn on the jukebox was always a good time.

Big Pines Lodge was one of the best Catfish Places in thr USA. Had a lot of great meals there.
