Gonna be in Tyler for the next two weeks, can anyone tell me what the best bars/clubs and on what nights?

I believe Rio on Thursdays is where you want to be.

In all seriousness, if you're looking for a bar to watch a game go to BW3 on broadway. Downtown has jakes or rickls which you'll need a sport coat for.

Then you have other traditional bars at chilis, benegins etc. But you won't find much of just a bar to hang out at.

How old are you and what kinda crowd do you like?

im 24 and i don't like people like ultra.

If you wear a sports coat you will be the only one under 50 doing so.

Cimarron as well in the Times Square shopping center. Decent crowd, all ages.

25 years old. Someplace where girls old enough to drink might actually be at would be preferred.

I like Cimmaron its laid back and has some ladies. I am not a big fan of down town though.

If i had a choice i think it would be

Cimmaron
BW3
Carretas(if you are there thursday Ultra is always there)
Pub
then any place downtown.

Dont go to Where is Rufos unless you are hard up on a tuesday night. They have some specials i think $2 tuedays i think its called.

Tyler has no clubs really. The true club would be the EC but that place is chit. The pub has a dance floor and doesnt suck when there isnt a band. has pool and darts.



OH and tyler just passed a no smoking law so if you wanna smoke tuff chit.

REO is some joint at the intersection of loop 323 and the cut through to 271

I dunno. Its the second version of the REO Palm Isle in longview the old roughneck bar from the good old days.

young people? How about hill billies? I went there once in early 2001 or so. Goofiest looking SOB's you've ever seen. Lanky rednecks dancing to Nelly.

how long you been in Tyler? how freakin old are you?

Both EC and Rodeo 2000 seem real cool. Do they do the electric slide at those places?

Local Bars:

Where's Ruff's if you want college age chicks and cheap beer. Kind of a crappy place.

Cimmarrons is you want higher class women and expensive drinks. Very nice place.

Carretta's if you want karaoke and fairly good mexican food.


Jullians if you want great food and a good wine list

Jakes sucks and it right by the police station.

Club Rodeo is a hick bar that has some good concerts.

Buffalo Wild Wings is the same as all the other BW3s.

The EC will get you stabbed and just flat out sucks.

Time Out is the best budie bar in town. Its BYOB and costs $20 to get in.

The Down Under Pub is a large bar with lots of bands, lots of dancing and is 150 feet from my apartment.



BTW all the bars are non smoking and Monday through Friday they clost at midnight, but on Saturday they stay open until 1:00

I haven't been since he sold Jake's and upgraded Rick's but I have heard its the place to go now that Jake's has been raped.

There is Rick's and Jake's downtown. One of them is now a restaraunt and it is way way way over priced. They charge $2 PER coke.

That place is a joke!!!

Went to electric cowboy friday night. just wow. i hope that isn't a good description of ya'll average locale. the only decent looking chick was in a tubetop.

then walking out the door the one guy asking if there will be anyone at bennigans, he asks me "Are you saved?"

Thats why we don't go to the EC.

If you are looking for strong talent go to Jullians or Cimmarrons. High class Hos there.

If your looking for young, dumb and easy go to Where's Ruff's.

dude that place blows also. The only day that might be remotely good is Tuesdays.

The bars around Tyler are what you call... Special. Really its what you make of it and who you are with cuz you wont find any "quality" chick at a Bar in Tyler. Like i told Ultra All the good and hot ones left right after High School and didnt look back. The ones that are here are the chicks from the surrounding towns of WH, Lindale, CH, Chandler and Brownsborro if that.
