The Midland metro area now has the highest per capita income knocking off Fairfield County, Connecticut, who had held that title for 26 years.

The per capita income for Midland is $83,049 while Fairfield County's income was a little more than $81,000.

Personal income growth rose by 12.1 percent in Midland over the past year with an increase of around $5,500 per person.

Per capita income means nothing to the normal people of a town.

I can make Mentone the richest per captia city in the world if I just move bill gates at the peak of his personal income level.

1 man making billions a year averaged out with a dozen others making zero still averages out to everyone making a few hundred million.

Median household income is the better measuring stick of economic progress of a place..

Agreed but I think Midland actually probably would be near the top of either list. There are lots of people here working hard/laborious jobs and making bank.
