You guys should do very well in the oil patch. I own a oilfield supply company that specializes in supplies for pump jacks. Bearings, seals, belts and sheaves. I have many customers that are struggling with accounts receivables. Most oil companies do not pay their bills in a timely manor and the small service companies are struggling with cash flow. This should be an easy sell for the right person.

Thanks for the encouraging word. We do very well in the oil patch. I am looking for a recent graduate that has a sales minded personality. A grad I hired last year makes over $150,000 per year. Not bad for his second year out of college.

What type of employee are you looking for exactly? Is this for someone that is more mechanical/technical or is this something the average female graduate could do (not saying women arent mechanical/technical). What type of major are you looking for?

Engr, I'm not the one hiring, but this would not be a mechanical/technical type job. If this were me hiring, I would be looking for someone with the ability to make cold calls (scares most people to death) on business owners and convince them that they can improve their cash flow buy selling them their accounts receivables ("factoring"). I would think a person with the ability to sell and a business (finance or accounting) degree would have the advantage.

I would be looking for someone with banking experience or who knows several bankers in the area. (ie junior officers). As a commercial lender, I had several startup companies that I couldn't help, but they looked decent on paper. However, I was at one of the two banks in Midland that did not have their own factoring department. My $.02. Good luck.
