I've been reading some articles that have suggested that the Cline Shale may end up "dwarfing" the Eagle Ford Shale. West Texas folks, what do you think or what have you heard? What kind of business opportunities will sprout in West Texas due to the Cline Shale?

Then go get you some acreage for $1500+/acre. Should be able to turn around and sell it for $10,000+/acre if it is better than EF.

Just kidding. Don't do that. Newspapers don't have a clue about reservoir quality. Cline has been drilled for a couple years now and nobody is putting all their marbles into it like they have with other shale plays (including less prolific ones like the Niobrara and Mississippian Lime). Devon mentions it less and less in their quarterly reports and they have a ton o acreage. Read between the lines in press releases from companies in the Cline - because like I said, the newspapers are clueless.

Chesapeake has drilled a few test wells in the past few months. You just never know.
