So I'm moving to midland when I graduate in December. I'm looking for either a room for rent or a 1 bedroom apartment. Anyone have any leads or advice?

Call at least a month in advance to a lot of apartments and get on their waiting list. Apartments are inflated out here.

Blue Ridge and Waterford Ranch are the nicest in my opinion.

I'm going to Midland next weekend using the relocation assistance from my company, so hopefully that will be early enough to get me a place by Jan.

By chance do you think you could tell me the going rate for a 1 or 2 br place? If you'd rather, feel free to email me at my username at gmail.

I may have one! I'd have to talk to the SO who's moving in with me in Jan. can you handle that?

The smallest 1 bedroom apts are about $1050 a month and the larger ones are about $1250 per month. This is both Waterford ranch and blue ridge. Personally, I'd go with Waterford ranch. Seems to be more families at blue ridge and younger people at Waterford.

Seems absurd, but its tough to find a place out here right now. 2 bedroom duplexes are going for $2000 right now and they aren't that nice

If you are still looking, my husband and I will be moving out of our apartment in December-January. It is in east Odessa (I can get to 191 and Loop 250 in Midland in 15 minutes any time of the day). We are having to break our lease (but have not put in the papers yet. The lease is good until march 31, 2 bed 1 bath, small (~750-800 sq. feet) 965/ month, no bills included...

Sadly its one of the cheapest you will find that is still in a halfway decent neighborhood...

The going rate for rentals is about $2/sq. ft.

Good luck.
