I know the Sutton County Steakhouse is there. What else is worth trying?

Used to be the Commercial Cafe in town, years ago...

I know this is a little late, but if its not too late... I'm actually from Sonora, the Steakhouse is ok... but personally I prefer a Mexican joint called La Mexicana. Its on 277 across from Pizza Hut. Order the green sauce, or chicken avacado queso before your meal... YUM! Their Sweet Tea is also very good!

Thanks guys and gals. I have not gone yet. I am going in spring to the caverns.

We did the caverns this past July. It was a great trip. It's an underrated cave, but I guess that helps to keep it preserved. The staff was very helpful in relocating a shoe that my son kicked off his foot to watch it plummet down a 40 foot hole. Lesson learned: two year olds really don't pay attention when the guide gives the lecture on not throwing anything away in the cave.

DadsanAg, I grew up in Big Lake. I know, it is a good place to be from. If we don't know each other then we know a lot of the same people. I am thru Sonora and Ozona 2-3 times a year. Always stop in The Big O and have dinner with friends.

DadsanAG... 2004? I hung out with several people from Ozona while I was in Sonora. I even went to a youth group that was made of Sonora/Ozona kiddos. Hmmm... I'm curious.

Only youth group I ever participated in was FCA my Freshman and Soph. year so that would rule that out!

The Mercantile downtown is pretty good and I would second La Mex. I work in Sonora but don't eat out there too much.
