The Odessa Police Department wants to erect a 7-ft statue of St. Michael the Archangel holding a fallen police officer in downtown Odessa. The statue is to honor the sacrifices of Corporals Scott Gardner, Arlie Jones, and Abel Marquez, end of watch 9/8/07, as well as all other police officers killed in the line of duty.
I sure hope that they can get the funds necessary to do this- it sounds like a beautiful tribute to out fallen heroes.
