I will be going to WF next Saturday for a 7 on 7 football tournament. My wife will drop me off at the venue around 8:30am, and then she'll have 4-5 hours or so to kill. What can she find to do between shopping, wine shops, etc?

Drive by and see if they'll turn the Falls on for her.

Thoughts and prayers for your wife. Just kidding. Born and raised in WF, but left 11 years ago. The best part of WF, used to be old, restaurants and bars in town. Sadly, many aren't there anymore. There is a small museum near MSU's campus, the "country club" neighborhood is another dose of nostalgia, and the last I heard, they were renovating the "falls", so it might not be running. I live in Lubbock, nowadays and rarely go back, as most of my family is gone. Good luck!

This trip turned into a disaster. I threw out my lower back somehow on Thursday. We went ahead anyway, hoping it would be a temporary thing. But nope, woke up this morning barely able to walk. So I just went by the tournament real quick at the end to get results (my team sucked) and then we drove back home.

For future reference, Friday night we ate at The Parkway Grill. It was pretty good. Standard fare (burgers, CFS, catfish, etc). Lots of TVs all over the place. It seemed to be a popular place.

Today we ate at Casa Manana, which was featured on an episode of Daytripper. They're supposedly famous for their unique red tacos, which have an unusual shell that is not quite hardshell, not quite puffy. It was okay. The rest was very meh, like wypipo Mexican food in Arkansas. Would not recommend.

I don't check this board very often, and was on vacation in Italy when you posted, but I don't know that I would have been much help. However, I would have told you to avoid Casa Manana. For a certain generation of Wichitans, its the Mexican food that they grew up on, so that's what they think Mexican food should be. Its run by some nice people, but I haven't eaten there in 20 years.
