I'm in Lubbock a couple times per months for work and I'm curious if anyone has suggestions on bars. Just looking for cold beer, country music, and decent food.

Thanks in advance.

I don't frequent em like I used to, but my favorite was The Office. Saw some surprisingly good talent there, including one of my favorites, the T Trubadoors.

Caprock Cafe. I especially like the original on 34th Street.

Caprock Cafe if you are looking for just a bar that plays country music and serves cold beer. Food is decent but nothing special. The Office does have some surprisingly good Texas country acts.

I like Gator's Bayou and Back 40 as well. Gator's has some pretty good drink specials.

Nick's is a nice sports bar as well. Tends to be an older crowd which is nice...or at least the one 98th.

If you're here on a Thursday evening there is a chance that the Lubbock A&M Club will be getting together for happy hour. I'll try to remember to post the next happy hour on this thread. You can join the Facebook group as well.

Never been to Caprock Cafe, but heard good things about it. I'll have to add I've only been in Lubbock a couple of years. Nicks is great for sports watching and their food is really good, at least the home made pizzas and the burgers.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm back in town tonight and I'm going to the Office to see Kyle Park.

Yall let me know if you'll be there and I'll buy you a beer. I'll probably go by caprock before just to check it out!

Hope you have a good time. I probably need a little more notice and then can make it sometime if you're back. What brings you to our neck of the woods? And I say woods with a little laughter behind it.

Here for work. Pharmaceutical sales and I call on the urology offices. I fly in once or twice per month.

I'll definitely give more notice next time!

Nick's for 30+...something on Broadway (across from campus) for younger crowd.

The Lone Star Oyster Bar on 34th was an Aggie hang out when I was in law school. My favorite place at the time.

Not sure what it is like now. The beer was really cold and the fried oysters were the best I ever had.

34th St Oyster bar, also known as The Yacht Club, is a dump. But, it's my favorite dump!
