Does anyone know of any dance halls in Houston? Preferably as far away from being a club as possible.

I'm assuming you are trying to avoid the Big Texas/Wild West/Red River type of place. Where there are ton of bad dancers and even more bad music... The only places I end up dancing now are at bars that have live music, such as Blanco's, Armadillo Palace and The Firehouse. They are not "dance clubs", but instead are bars where dancing occasionally happens...

Tin Hall is still open aint it?

I dont believe that Tin Hall is open to the public, I think they only rent out for private parties... Too bad it is a great place...

my friend you just missed "The Texas Dance Hall" in huffman. It was a real dance hall complete with white trash, plywood tables, rubbermaid trashcans, and it was BYOB.

The bouncers killed a guy with flashlights b/c he talked a girl they knew...then they arrested everyone and shut the place down.

There's actually a BYOB place out in Livingston called Sundance that I've had a good time at before... Definitely out there, and you know you're not in the city anymore, but still a good time...

Eddie's Country Ballroom down in Manvel is still open sometimes - you'll be dancing with a bunch of highschoolers, but it may suit what you're looking for.

i think the town south of livingston. maybe west of cleveland...

it is real close to the sam houston national forest too. i think.

Brazos River Bottom

Texas Tumbleweed off of Kuyrkendal and 1960.

It is a decent place. Pretty good music and decent dancers. Beer is cold and it is a fun place. They also have concerts from time to time.

Riverside Dance Hall in East Bernard

Every long once in awhile Tin Hall is open to the public, but it is tied to an event (fundraisers/live band performing). I wish they still had concerts in the fall like they used to.

How about The Swinging Door in Fulshear?

The Swinging Door is more in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. I would recomend that also.
