I have a good friend who left her job and had a non compete. The company filed a restraining order and she has depositions next week. They are a large billion firm. She's just an individual…. But needs an attorney. She's located in college station. The company filed in Harris county. Does anyone know if string attorney in this space that isn't with large firm (she's hoping to find more affordable option that she can save the big firm overhead).

Thanks!

Matt Veech with Boyar Miller here in Houston. He's an Ag too. Born & raised in BCS too so he's got relationships there.

Would assume that her current employer was sued as well. Is she still being employed by her new employer? Will they pick up the tab for her separate counsel?

Noncompete cases can get really expensive really fast because some much of the discovery and TRO/TI hearing work happens in the first two weeks the case is filed.

I'll throw out that Mark Levine at Andrews Myers is an excellent labor and employment lawyer.

Thanks. I'll pass along.

Her current company hasn't been named as defendants in the filings.

Non competes are not usually enforceable below the executive level....is she stealing clients or something?
