I was involved in an accident in my company vehicle several months ago. A lady blew a stop sign at a 4-way stop and t-boned me, but of course said that I pulled out in front of her.

I just received a summons informing me that the company I work for and me personally are now named as defendants as she is suing us.

It's super frustrating and feels like a money grab on her part. Am I to assume I will need my own attorney as I was individually named in the suit?

If so, does anyone have experience with a good attorney in this area of expertise?

I have never been in a lawsuit so this is all new to me. The suit was filed in Liberty County, outside of Houston.

Your company and/or their carrier will hire your lawyer. You don't need to go out and hire one on your own. This is nothing for you to worry about.

This. I was in a wreck where a drunk driver caused the accident and pushed my car into a third car. The driver and his wife in passenger seat sued me and the drunk driver. My insurance company, State Farm, provided me with a lawyer. After my deposition, the third party dropped their case against me and just went after drunk driver's insurance. I was very happy with State Farm's attorney. They were great and took care of me.

I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

for insurance coverage from the company, this won't matter.

the question is whether he had permission to be using the vehicle.

as others have said, turn it into your boss. have them verify its being turned into the company's insurance company.

Unfortunately, I would bet it gets settled. I had evidence of the person involved in an accident trying to commit insurance fraud by asking me to say someone else was driving (she asked via text). When she ended up suing, I provided that evidence to my insurance company and they still settled.

Your company needs dash cams front and rear in all their vehicles employees drive for work.
