Hi. I live in West Houston (Energy Corridor area) and I'm doing some foundation repair work. The original 1965 cast iron sewer line already has some leaks and I expect it to get worse after the foundation repair. I've been wanting to replace the line for quite some time and it seems like the best timing. I bought the house 5-6 years ago and got a concession from the seller to replace the line.

I won't fully replace if it's not needed post-foundations work but want to be ready with a few quotes should they be needed once they do the hydrostatic test.

Do you have any plumbing company recommendations for full cast iron sewer line replacement in Houston? Also, if you've done this recently, can you share what you paid so I have a reference point?

Sandtech ….used them for my first home in Lazybrook and then our next place over in 77079, both similar vintage to your home. Sandtech does high quality work/tunneling under slab. Both of my jobs were about 10k…..over a decade ago Full replacement of all lines to city sewer connection.

Repipe Specialists could give you an idea, although don't think it will be cast iron.

Check with your foundation company, they may be willing to quote the work.

When I had my drain lines replaced DuWest was cheaper than any of the dedicated plumbing outfits and didn't put their warranty on existing pilings at risk.

They weren't even on my radar as a potential vendor until I called to check on warranty impacts of under-slab digging.

If replacing with pvc, make sure they use schedule 40 4 inch pipe and not the much cheaper green sewer pipe.
It's been 6 years, but we used Les Con. Big company with crews that do repiping well.
