That you buy a used Dodge Charger with a sales price of $29,990 and your payments are almost $1,000 a month?

I mean, it sucks that they sold her an allegedly stolen car, but her saying her payment is close to $1,000 a month was mind-boggling.

Id guess that's a not immaterial portion of people on the road today.

I am sure she had plenty of money left over for quality insurance.

She should have gone to a more reputable dealer like Shabana and gotten Shabanatized.

It would be if she did a 36-month note. I did one way back in my single days for 0% interest.

I guess I'm an awful for person for assuming those weren't her terms.

Stolen in Missouri. Sold in Texas so supposedly has Texas or dealer tags. Why exactly did the cops pull them over?

With it being a Dodge, your assumption is the most likely situation

It doesn't shock me anymore. Used to pull credit reports all the time and one of the number one things that would pop up would be an auto loan for an absurd amount of money on either (a) a shi**y vehicle or (b) a vehicle way out of this persons affordability range. But you gotta keep it playa with a nice whip on them skreets

I can see this happening. some years back a family member took out a car loan with probably 500 something credit. I think the rate was like 18 or 20 %.

The rule in my family was if I wanted to get a drivers license I had to obtain my own vehicle to learn to drive in. I ended up going to the one shady place I could find that would sell a car to an 18 year old without a drivers license. It was the first time I had ever obtained financing for anything in my life, so I didn't understand how any of that stuff worked. I ended up getting hosed with a 23% interest rate on a $6,000 used car.

That's child's play for an auto dealer near an Army/Marine base.

Isn't the average monthly payment now hovering close to that? I'm not shocked anymore by the insane CCs, auto loan, and BNPL numbers.

Man I see a lot of ratchet ladies driving pretty nice cars these days. With inflation being where its at, and most people feeling the squeeze, I gotta wonder how many of these cars are just being straight up neglected. I bet a lot of people are just forgetting oil changes and basic maintenance altogether.

I last purchased a vehicle in 2018 and financed through GM to get a better deal (refinanced as soon as I could) and the finance guy turned his screen to show me my credit score. I guess it was a list of all the recent reports he ran and some of the numbers I saw were astonishingly low. Like I didn't realize it was possible for a credit score to go that low. I asked if those people actually got approved and he just chuckled and said, oh yeah.

Financial documents Emerita Diaz shared with KPRC 2 show that she financed a 2022 White Dodge Charger with her brother-in-law on October 29, 2024, at Robbins Chevrolet in Humble.

This person had to get a co-signor to get the car so they're both idiots.
