I would like to remove a few large trees near my house in Magnolia that will probably have to be blocked down. If anyone knows a good company that does that sort of thing, please let me know. TIA.

I used Houston Tree Surgeons for some heavy trimming, removal of a midsized tree and an arborist consult. They weren't cheap, but they were honest, did good work and cleaned everything up really well.

Had a neighbor go with a cheaper option a few weeks after I had my work done and they tore up his yard, damaged his irrigation system and left a mess.

Call Chris Pixler with Results Tree and Landscape. (832) 641-2520. He's taken down 7-8 trees for me in Woodforest. And paying cash was able to knock down the pricing some.

I had a large tree behind my detached garage removed in 2022. Due to another tree in my neighbor's yard this tree has a significant lawn to the trunck, and it's primary limb extended out over the garage, part of the yard and ultimately the house. Oh and the perkiness were right behind it.

Monster Tree Service handled it. The job was a mix of climbing and an ultra compact man lift.

After last June's storm, ABC quoted me about $2400 to take down a standing 50'+ water oak, haul away, and grind the stump.

We opted to go with a "local" guy. We've used him three times now, and despite the language barrier, he's been great each time. Recommended him to our neighbor as well, and as far as I know she had no issues either. We've had him take down a total of 12 trees over the last year.

I want to say we probably paid total around $7000 for 12 trees, haul away, and stump grinding?

Thanks for the info. I got one no-call, one $4100 and one $2800 for 9 medium sized trees. No stump grinding (not needed on my property). Insurance certificate to be sent. Also, I'm stacking about half of them for firewood that are not pines, so less haul off cost.

A lot of my neighbors have apparently decided that there is no need to pay for removal, they can just leave them on the sidewalk for as long as it may take for the city to come pick them up, regardless of even the posted schedules for heavy trash. So that's a cost saving option, I suppose.

We weren't hit by the derecho, but I guess that inspired a wave of storm-prep tree removal.
