I dont have a need for cowboy boots outside of rodeo every year. I've been wearing a pair I got off ebay a few years ago that served their purpose but are on their last leg now.
Any places in town that sell used boots on the cheap, outside of Goodwill? Lets assume Facebook marketplace isnt an option for arguments sake.

Are Tecovas at $2-300 too much OP? I have a pair I wear regularly that aren't exotic skin or anything, just plain brown going on 6-8 years now and other than getting resolved have been a solid pair of boots in lieu of something like Lucchese or similar.

Was at a youth rodeo in the recent past, where "western dress" was required for competitors. But all the adult "real cowboys" out there to corral bulls and whatnot were mostly in sneakers, sitting cross legged on the saddle staring at there phones when not in action.

I'm from the Golden Triangle - Fort Stockton, Sanderson and Marathon - so I've run into plenty of real cowboys. Most of the time unless going to church, a funeral, into town where they might be seen by a traveler from a big city or needing to wear spurs most wear tennis shoes.

But if the OP wants to get some boots he should get some. .

tennis shoes were the way to go when I did farm work during my days in high school and college during school breaks.
