I had posted earlier regarding the possibility of doing some foundation repair. If you've had that type of work done before, could some of you offer advice on what to look out for and some potential pitfalls ? Any help would be appreciated.
Used Dawson Foundation repair here in Cypress. 28 piers in our home. Interviewed 4-5, had a structural engineer do a full blown report as well (more of fighting with insurance co than not trusting Dawson).
DuWest sets the standard that others follow. Kenny and Jim Dutton are both straight shooters and will tell you the good, bad and ugly of your situation. When you want the best call DuWest.
We've had 2 companies come out so far ( Du-West and Precision ) and both contracts read as if they can pretty much break anything and everything and not be held to do the repairs. I'm talking about plumbing, lawn sprinkler systems, etc. Anybody ever run into these types of issues ?
The home was 9.5 years old and builders purchase a structural warranty on homes which covers them through year 10. It was covered but the disagreement was on the price owed.
I liked Dawson drilled, set steel and poured concrete v pressed pilings. Research their bell bottom piers. I would have them back out without hesitation.
Seems to be par for the course. I used Jericho who came highly recommended, but their contract read the same way. I pressed them on it but they didn't budge.
