Anyone have someone they trust in the Sugar Land area. Got a 4600 quote to fix my Yukon XL AC with over 4000 being labor charge because the dash has to come off.

I'd try Christian Bros, they are a large chain but do good work at a fair price.

Also, Mike Tate's over in New Territory, they are usually pretty honest until one time they told us we needed an engine replacement in our 8 yr. old Expedition. Turned out to be a bad camshaft that Helfman replaced for $1600.

Mike Tate's a good guy. His brother's family had a shop in First Colony I always went to.

I highly recommend Hope Automotive in Missouri City. Been going there for years.

Ask for Mark (the owner) or Junior (his son).

Yep, I have used the Hwy90 & 99 Mike Tate's and had good luck with them before.

I don't care what they are wearing if they come in under 4600. Hope automotive wins the Google star challenge. Mike Tate's quoted 3600. The old place I went to in Bellaire, John's Xpress Lube quoted 2800. Going to call the others tomorrow and see what they have to say. Thanks for the recs.

I think Colony One on Dulles is pretty popular in the area. They have a ton of reviews online. I never had major work done with them. Think I stopped going there because they weren't open on weekends to do the basic maintenance type stuff.

I now go to First Tire & Auto on Williams Trace which also has good online reviews, but have never needed a major repair.

I went to Colony One for years until they sold, then I started going to First Tire & Auto. Had very good experiences with First Tire & Auto.

Not SL but not far... Bill English off 5th street in Stafford. I believe his shop is called 'Cars & Trucks'. Honest guy with a great reputation.

Not Sugarland but love G&S Auto. Found it through this forum.

I remember when I moved to the area ... Fort Bend County subleased some of the space in the Fluor Building. That's where you filed homestead exemptions, etc. That was a long time ago.

After talking to 5 or 6 shops I am going to bring it to Bill English in Stafford. He was the only guy I talked to who knew right away all that was involved to do the job. I was going to go with him based on the conversation alone, and then his quote came in less than the other shops I had called anyway. He can't do it for a couple of weeks, but is going to top off my freon for free since I have to wait.

Falsone's Automotive in Stafford. Family owned. Been using them for years. You won't find better pricing anywhere else.
