Thanks to all who recommended it. I had high expectations and it met them easily.

Very very good spot and will go again.

Right up there with the best in town.

Once you've had Kata Robata, every other sushi joint tastes like it might as well have come from the vending machine in the men's room of an interstate truck stop.

No. You're thinking of the Styx song.

It was good quality, but they are way too stingy with their servings. I shouldn't leave hungry after spending over $100 per person.

IMO, the amberjack with foie gras is one of the best bites of food in Houston.

I've never left hungry and I have a pretty big appetite.

And this is a pretty broad statement. I mean if you just go there and order expensive items (like Kobe, caviar, fatty tuna, etc.) you're going to hit $100 with a few bites of food. But if you do Omakase or talk to the waiter you should easily be able to hit a balance of expensive small items with more substantial items to fill you up.

Must have had better luck than us. We didn't do Omakase but we didn't go for the super crazy stuff either. All of the sashimi we got were super thin, and any sushi we got were not very big.

We tried their Omakase in October and it was more food than any of us could eat for about $108 a person, and was all really good.

If y'all are interested in a true Omikase experience, check out 5 Kinokawa on White Oak. They're our neighbors and the chef, Billy, is absolutely phenomenal. He was/is a partner with Hidden Omakase and was the chef at Blackbird Izakaya prior to that.

How does it stack up against places like MF Sushi ?

MF sushi is great sushi.

5Kinokawa is the best omakase experience I've been to. Billy Kin is does a wonderful job with the food, but is also very interactive and informative

I'm in the Uchi and Roka Akor over Kata Robata camp. The last few times I've been to KR I've felt like I was in a race to turn the table. Never come close to that at the other two.

Only 3 (out of like 8) courses were sushi / sashimi. The rest was all sorts of cooked food.

So $108 for 3 uncooked lazy dishes and then Panda Express. Do you know how much Panda Express you get for $108?

Believe it or not, some people, on occasion, do appreciate quality over quantity.

You can go have your Panda Express at the kids table. The adults are talking.
