Overall package, I still like Fung's Kitchen. For seafood specific, either Hai Cang or Crown. For spice, I've always liked Pepper Twins better than Mala Sichuan.
Either my backyard, Pei Wei, Panda Express, or if I want to treat my old lady (aka the rib) I take her to PF Changs

One Dragon for Xiao Long Bao is the way to go. It isn't fancy but it is about as good as I have had outside of Asia.

Cafe Ginger / Qin Dynasty IMO for "mainstream" Chinese. Pepper Twins very good for szechuan.

2) Service that made you think they really didn't want you to be there at all.
3) The ambiance of the owner's kids watching differing cartoons at max volume on their iPads.
4) There was food. Most of the time, the food was pretty good. All of the time, the food was cheap.
The place remains unmatched.

Happy All on Holcombe? They were always really nice to me. They'd even bring me water and orange slices sometimes while I waited, without me asking for anything. I didn't worry too much about the appearance of the place since the whole family was clearly eating there and they seemed too nice to poison me, at least intentionally. Not like dirty hipsters who always look like they're about to throw in something extra for giggles.
Yale and 14th. Went once out of curiosity and they seemed to be annoyed that I was there. The only one there. RIP
I don't know if it's the best, but I like it and they give you a ton of food. C1 House Special Fried Rice from Nee Hao can feed me 3-4 meals. Off BW8 north and Lee Road.

I haven't taken my kids out to the authentic places on Bellaire yet. Our go-to for kid-friendly Americanized take out is JJ Garden on Beechnut at the loop. It's pretty solid.
I used to frequent the Happy All on Holcombe. There was also a decent place in the same strip center as Fred's Italian Corner next to the Southwell's (Joe Wok or something). Chicken and Egg Roll on Shepherd was similar to Timmy Chan.
