What are some good BBQ shops in the Jersey Village - Cypress area and Spring Branch? I have been goon for 35 years. Thanks
Not sure how Killen's is handling quality control with the number of restaurants he's opened. Not to mention the fact that if you follow him on social media he's basically been on a different vacation every week this year....cc10106 said:

I read somewhere that Killen's is opening in Cypress where Burro & Bull was located.
Can confirm. Used to be on TX Top 50 list. Was very good last time I had it. Has been a minute though.spadilly said:
Virgie's BBQ on Gessner just south of Tanner.
I feel Virgies is more about the pork. I work 5 min from there and have had it a number of times. If you're a beef bbq guy like me, I'll pick Aunt Pookies any day, and that's not to say Aunt Pookies is particularly outstanding. Virgies got the pork, for sure, but their beef is not worth the drive for me. Just my opinion.Sooper Jeenyus said:Can confirm. Used to be on TX Top 50 list. Was very good last time I had it. No. No. Just no. Forget barbeque, that place is a hygiene disaster.

How is Carl's BBQ off 290 and Telge? I passed by that the other day on the way in and smiled that it was still there. That was solid hangover food about 25 years ago when there wasn't sht for BBQ in Houston.
I'm in Spring Shadows too. Let me know when to come over and how much beer to bring.Ag_07 said:
I'm right here in Spring Shadows and the BBQ I cook in my backyard is better than anything around here.
So the answer is my backyard.

I remember liking the burger.
The last time I went the place smelled like raw sewage. Haven't been back.BohunkAg said:

Not Spring Branch but Heights area so not far … Pinkerton's as mentioned earlier. Went to Gatlin's on TC Jester and it was pretty good. Went to Fege's in Spring Branch soon after opened, haven't gone back. Get to Pinkerton's early.
Another fan of Virgie's here.Sooper Jeenyus said:Can confirm. Used to be on TX Top 50 list. Was very good last time I had it. Has been a minute though.spadilly said:

Carls BBQ is still money on the burger. The scallop potato's as well.
For BBQ head to the ace hardware on barker and 529. Brooks BBQ. Show your CCL and get a discount.

I'm a huge fan of Roegel's on S. Voss.mjschiller said:

Went for a late 2pm-ish lunch today and it was great. The fatty brisket was phenomenal and the ribs were excellent.Hammerly High Dive Crips said:Mr. McGibblets said:

Well, I know where I'm going next time I get the hankering.
