Looking to get an upper arm sleeve in the next couple of months. I would prefer someone in the Woodlands area, but I do not mind traveling for the best (within the Houston area).

I want someone who will work with me on a design, I have idea, but nothing definitive. I'm leaning toward something with finer lines, more realistic than not, and color (not a 100% on that). I am thinking of a bookshelf because books are a major part of my profession and I am a lifelong avid reader.

You need to find a style you like then find an artist that specializes in that style. One guy may be awesome st fine line stuff and black and grey but absolutely suck at some other type of tattoo. You need to just start browsing portfolios until you find an artist you like then have a consultation with them amd discuss what you want. Of you want a good artist, prepare to be on a waiting list.

I do know I want a finer line with a more realistic feel, I have a bookshelf in mind. I am not sure on color, I'm willing to have it or not depending on what that artist says will work. That's part of why I need recommendations. I have no idea who is good in Houston. My other tattoos were not done here and were not specifically thought out.

I am looking now because I am okay with a wait list. I would rather have someone good in several months than someone that I sort of like their work now.

I've admired Jason's work for a long time. He's in the process of completing a sleeve for me. He's in College Station, doesn't accept walk-ins and it'll take you a few times contacting but he's well with it.

Have you considered getting a tattoo of Levar Burton's face from his Reading Rainbow days? There aren't many professions that involve books or reading, so I'd want to commemorate that.

Beautiful work! I got a tattoo in the 90s, another in the 00s, and a third in the 10s. Need to start figuring out what this decade will bring.
