Does anyone know how to request a second water meter from CoH? I found a thread on the home improvement board, but that question was not answered. Between my pool evaporation and irrigation I am sure it will be worth it to me to have installed.
I have scoured the houstonwaterbill website and cant seem to find a way to request additional service. I did fill out the "new service" request and put what I wanted but have not heard back from who ever gets those emails.

Any ideas?

Call Mickie Service Company. They will handle it all at the best price in town. They do more new meters than anyone in the city, including my new meter for my garage apartment.

So far I have as much luck with Mickie as the CoH. I left a voicemail and contacted them thru their website but no response yet. Hopefully I get a call back soon..

Hopefully you have better luck with the 2nd water meter than I do with CenterPoint for a second gas meter.

Installing a second meter for a whole house generator as it'll be easiest based on the gas main and location of the generator. Mailed a check last Monday as that's the only way CenterPoint accepts payment. As of this morning it still hasn't cleared. Can't schedule the install which will be 4-6 weeks out until the check clears. One step at a time…

The generator gets installed on Tuesday which is two weeks from when I made the online initial payment.

Amazing how efficiency gets introduced when true profitability is at stake.

I plan to do this as well, but it will make me also spend another 10k to put in a new driveway instead of boring under the busted one I have.

That and I haven't figured out how to tap in to my pool fill line, with the irrigation meter line.

How much did a second meter run?

Second meter install itself is $700. It includes up to 25 feet of gas line I think. I just need like 10 feet.

There's a per foot charge after 25 based on bored or trenched.

I also have to pay a $650 re-patch fee since they have to dig up the asphalt in the alley. It's still cheaper than running it from the existing gas meter where they would have had to dig up my yard while avoiding the sprinkler system. Didn't really want my yard dug up and there's no doubt they would have hit a sprinkler line.

Call Jasmine at 346-571-5395.

Got my quote in 3 hours after two missed call backs.

$1500 for new line and meter. That is NOT plumbing in the irrigation and pool fill. That's just installing new service and meter.

Was that through Mickie?

CenterPoint. Based on Mickie's website they only do water lines and not gas lines.

As of this writing CenterPoint still hasn't processed the check I mailed two Mondays ago.

Ironically enough the guys from Collaborative Services are out back installing the generator right now who I paid online the same day as I mailed a check to CenterPoint.

Won't be able to fire it up until I get that second meter a month from now I'm guessing.

$1900 if it's strait forward. This is Mickie's price. I think there's more charges from the city.
