Who remembers the Boston Sea Party?

Is there anything anywhere that's like that?

I remember. That place shut down about 30 years ago or more. I don't know of anything similar like that now.

Probably only places that'll make you end up in the bathroom for 24 hours

Man I musta had it on the brain all day yesterday. Dreamed my FIL and I went to a seafood buffet and they served us salmon soup and insisted there was no such thing as king crab.

Seems like if you bust out of town a couple of hours in any direction there are usually "seafood" buffet type places. "Seafood" in these instances are usually catfish and fried shrimp. Catfish is usually spelled with a K, to go with "King" or "Korner".

Anyone ever hit up the BBQ crab / shrimp deal at Sartin's in Santa Fe? That was a great post-fishing stop.

Seafood buffets are a health inspectors wet dream. Hello the mother of all food born pathogens!

High end Brazilian steakhouses often have seafood available (shark, tuna, swordfish, shrimp)

Brady's Landing had some kind of brunch or lunch buffet. That's probably the only one I can think of - it got picked clean pretty quick the one time I went. Other than that, some places on the outskirts occasionally had catfish buffets on Friday or something.

Oh yeah, BSP was the bomb! The only thing was I tended to "hurt" myself (eating to excess) every time we went.

Casual dining with Cajun/Creole flair. Menu recommendation in two words: barbequed crabs. Seasonal all-you-can-eat fried seafood dishes complete with fries, hushpuppies and salad bar. Kids prices, too. BYOB. Lunch specials and family to-go packs available.

That must be it. I knew it was down there off 45 on the way back from fishing, but I thought it was a dumpier location..

Seafood + buffet. Two words that should never be adjacent to each other.

A jury on Thursday found Kelli Sartin guilty of fatally beating her father with a metal spatula and rolling pin in 2019. Deliberations lasted approximately three hours following the third day of testimony. Charles Sartin, founder of Sartin's Seafood, was found dead in a bedroom of his Sabine Pass house.

Several times. It is good. Nothing special about it. Not sure why the label it as seafood it seems about the same seafood percentage as other Chinese buffets. Haven't been in a couple years now, so maybe it has changed.

Not sure if they still have the same deals, but a way that we got the seafood buff experience, but with freshly cooked food, was at Village Pizza and Seafood. They had some sort of family platter that had fish, shrimp, clams, and oysters served on a bed of fries and hush puppies on an extra large pizza pan. Fed like 5 of us fat f***s easily, especially when we added a large pie on the side.

Damn, I miss the single days when my meal and restaurant choices were not confined to the few places where my kids will eat. At least I've got them all eating wings now.

Yeah, King Star for one. Has lots of "seafood" but a lot of it is sushi rolls and shrimp.

Also The New Spot on Westheimer out near Kirkwood does "all you can eat" crab and lobster and crawfish.

Angelos was the bomb back in the day. Angelo gave free meals to Astro and Oiler players to come in there. Didn't know any better, we thought it was really good.

Todai next to Ikea on I-10 was my go-to. RIP. Wife told me about #3 there on a date. They even had King Crab (with a C!) occasionally.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

The original Sartins in Sabine Pass during the 60's to early '70's was the place to eat seafood at. Their all you could eat family style dinners were killer. I was just a little kid, but can still remember the platters of food being brought to the table.
