Does anyone on this board know where I can get St Augustine sod? I don't need a lot - maybe 6 squares would do. Anywhere in the Memorial, Spring Branch, Katy, Jersey Village, Cypress areas will work. I've been to Houston Garden Centers, Lowes, and Home Depot - all were out.

I'll be putting down a pallet later this week. I just called Brokers Grass in Missouri City and they have some. They sell it by the piece too.

houston garden centers grass has been complete crap the couple of times i have gone there. look for other places that sell landscaping rocks and such. I hae had to order it ahead and reserve it the last couple of times i have needed it, so you will probably need to call around and ask them to set some aside.

I think Friday is delivery day at the garden centers on the north side.

and speaking of inflation...back in the spring it was $1.29 per square. Now it's $1.99

My experience with the box stores is they get delivery Thursday afternoon or Friday and it's usually gone by Saturday.

Cowboy Trucking is only whole pallets from when I ordered as they order a pallet specifically for you.

That's likely a bait and switch. $200 per pallet is probably for a minimum of 4-5 pallets.

We just did 10 pallets, plus clearing out some old overgrowth and leveling the dirt. $2800.

Edit to add: most came from somewhere in brookshire, but a couple of pallets came from King Ranch turf grass at 10/Cane Island.

Sod? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Sod! There's four places. There's the Sod Hut, that's on third. There's Sod-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Grass-There. That's on third. Cut Low, Sweet Sodio... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the sod complex on third.

Good luck... I was able to convince a sod farm in Crosby to allow me to come pick up a half a pallet of zoysia, I had to go out to the field to pick it up
